strategist. what's your overall assessment? >> i think it was a great night for mitt romney. i think the doom and gloom that's been hanging over the romney campaign, republicans in general has lifted tonight. i think that the democratic advance which began literally a month ago when clint eastwood walked out on stage ended tonight. i think the race is going to tighten. i think mitt romney was in command of this from the beginning. i'm not sure that he lost an exchange during the entire debate. a startling performance in my view and just the context of how good mitt romney was tonight. >> i thought that in terms of individual exchanges i think what may have been most notable, there wasn't i think a single direct attack against mitt romney from president obama. however, they substantively dealt with policy matters. >> he was looking down tonight. he was passive. he was abstract in his answers. mitt romney was talking about real people, giving real examples. i thought he was clear. he was concise. i think the president was muddled tonight. i just wonder, we talked about this earlier. when you're

because last night on fox, mitt romney made his latest comments on 47%. it's taken him three weeks to get there. now he's saying he was completely wrong. >> yeah, andrea, i would say his comments, remember on september 18th, i think it was, when he came out and did that press conference right after the 47% tape came out, he said it wasn't eloquently stated. he said it was off the cuff. he came nowhere near saying it was wrong and i apologize for it. three weeks on, he's apologizing. what's fascinating, andrea, i would bet a lot of money which in my world isn't all that much, but say i would bet $5 that mitt romney had the line he used with sean hannity ready to use in the debate when he, of course, expected barack obama would attack him in some way, shape, or form on the 47% comment. barack obama never did so, which i continue to find baffling strategically, but mitt romney i think wanted to get it out there in the air before october 16th and the next debate. my guess what he'll do, when barack obama almost assuredly attacks him in the october 16th debate he will say that's old news, i've

night denver broncos legend and executive vice president john elway hit mitt romney with a quick toss to the right introducing and endorsing the republican nominee at a colorado campaign event. but before you get too excited, mr. elway doesn't have a great record off the field of play. he was 0 for 2 last time around after contributing to the campaigns of rudy joule annie and then john mccain. republicans have received three times as much as democrats. according to business insiders walter hickey, 11 nfl team owners currently line up behind mitt romney. none more so than new york jets long suffering owner woody johnson, also a campaign finance co-chair. perhaps remarkably, for a man whose team took a fearsome beating at the weekend without scoring a single point in response, mr. johnson reveals his priority is not his team, but team romney. >> well, i think you always have to put country first, so i think it's very, very important that this election come off with mitt romney and ryan as president and vice president. >> now, this may come as cold comfort for those jets fans who spend t
